The mission of this practice is to provide high quality of care in a timely and professional manner.  It is our intent, to provide a friendly and caring atmosphere while providing comprehensive medical care for the entire family.  We want your entire experience at Family Medicine Specialists to be pleasant, efficient, personal, and coordinated in an orderly fashion.  We also feel that your emotional needs are as important as your physical needs.  With that regard, we expect our patients to let us know when we fail to meet these goals.  We also appreciate hearing from you when we attain these goals.  

What is a Physician's Assistant/Nurse Practitioner? 

The Physicina Assistant (or PA) or Nurse Practitioner (OR NP) is a professional member of our health care team.  He/she is qualified by intense basic science and clinic training to function under the supervision of your Physician.  PA's/NP's can perform routine office exams for acute care as well as manage many long term medical conditions.  They can also make nursing home visits.  By working closely with your Physician, the PA/NP can extend the quality of care provided to you and your family.  Every attempt will be made to schedule you with your Physician, however, due to very busy schedules, you may be asked to see a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to meet your immediate needs. It is also acceptable if you develop a relationship with one of the PA's/NP's to request to see the PA/NP and in fact see them for longitudinal care.
